The Ambassador
of the Federal Republic of Germany in Iran, his execellency Dr.
Herbert Honsowitz, had an audience by his execellency Prof. Dr.
Amid Zanjani, the President of the University of Tehran on
Sunday the 11th of March 2007.
The meeting has been set up in the office of the President.
Participating persons have been the Vice-President's of the
University of Tehran, the Head of the Cultural Section of the
German Embassy in Iran, Mrs. Durack, Prof. Dr. Faezipour,
Director of International Affairs of the University of Tehran
and Dr. Paivand Sepehri, Assistant for International Affairs of
the President of the University of Tehran.
Expanding the existing cooperation with German Universities and
joint Intercultural Understanding Seminars with the University
of Tehran, have been some discussed topics of this 2 hours
meeting.
Dr. Herbert Honsowitz requested the establishment of a degree
course at the University of Tehran in the subject of "German
Literature". It was a very friutful and friendly meeting with
many information transfer and appreciation towards both
countries.
The University of Tehran has many cooperations with German
Universities, such as the Universities of Berlin (TU Berlin),
Technical University of Munich, Ludwig Maximillian University of
Munich, Freiburg, Kassel, Potsdam, Kiel and Bonn.
